Vernon Lester Brake Sr.

Vernon Lester Brake Sr., 63, of Coyle, went to be with the lord on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, surrounded by his family. Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A service celebrating Vernons life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, October 8th at the Coyle Christian Church with interment following at Paradise Cemetery in Coyle, OK.
Vernon was born on July 15, 1947 in Stillwater, OK to Violet Ann Gaither and Clarence Earl Brake. He graduated from Tryon High School. On December 14, 1968 he married Nancy Jolynn Goble. Vernon and Nancy made their home in Coyle, OK where they raised their six children. Vernon was employed by Coyle Public Schools for 30 years as a bus driver, custodian, and as the Fruit man. The Fruit Man was a title lovingly bestowed upon him by the students at Coyle Elementary School.
Vernon enjoyed being a member of the Coyle Christian Church, Coyle 4H Booster Club, Coyle FFA Booster Club, and the Lions Club. His Favorite hobby was spending time with his children and grand children.
Mr. Brake is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home. Four sons: Vernon Brake Jr, and wife Melissa, of Edmond, OK. Jamie Brake, Adam Brake, and Stephen Brake, of Coyle, OK. Two daughters: Jennifer Brake and Katie Brake, of Coyle, OK. Four grandchildren: Ivy Hill, Hayden Brake, Dawson Brake, Jax Dentis. Three brothers: Donald Brake, of Kansas City, MO. Charles Brake, of Stillwater, OK. Wilbur Brake, of San Jose, CA. Five sisters: Bertha Mae Fisher of Kansas City, KS. Margaret Ryder, of Perkins, OK. June Wyant, of Perry, OK. Nina Drake, of Perkins, OK. Donna Rashidifard, of Lexington, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
