Wayne Sewell

Wayne Eugene Sewell, 67, passed from this life on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Perry Green Valley Nursing Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. The family has requested a private memorial service at a later date. Wayne was born on March 13, 1948 to Lloyd and Syble (Summers) Sewell in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up and attended school while living in Kansas City. Wayne took an interest in the guitar at an early age, in which he excelled greatly. He worked as a studio guitarist for many years and also played lead guitar in the band, Country Expressions Band of Perry, Oklahoma. When Wayne was not playing his guitar, he would be found outdoors camping, fishing, and hunting raccoons. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and spending time with his family. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Sr. and Syble (Summers) Sewell; one brother, Lloyd W. Sewell Jr.; one sister, Becky Sewell. Wayne is survived by two children, James R. Sewell, Crystal Edgar and husband, Jim; four sisters, Vicky Gilpin of Kansas City, KS, Penny Franklin and husband, Barry of Kansas City, KS, Delia Meek and husband, Jim of Kansas City, KS, Shelia Morvac and husband, Jeff of Overland Park, KS; two grandchildren, William C. "Clay" Shaw and wife, Ashley, Jamilee Sewell, and one honorary grandchild, Stephen Sumpter; two great-grandchildren, Zoey Shaw and Zena Shaw.
