William "Bill" Mullen

March 18, 1939 — September 1, 2023

William Elmer “Bill” Mullen, passed away Friday, September 1, 2023 at Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was 84. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.


Bill was born March 18, 1939 in Florence, Texas, the son of Arthur Truman Mullen and Lola Vee ( McGonagle) Mullen. He graduated from Crane High School. On February 1, 2011, he married Charlena (Hesser) Swisher in Stillwater. He was employed as an electric lineman in the oil field business. He worked for Getty Oil in Crane and Tag Petroleum, Stillwater. He loved fishing, sports, hunting and had an arrowhead collection. He was a member of the Sunnybrook Christian Church.


In addition to his wife, survivors include children: LaRisa Brown and her husband Mike, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Gregory Swisher and wife Denise, Blue Springs, Missouri, and Rhonda Venable and husband Rod, Glencoe, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Travis Brown and wife Morgan, Trent Brown, Brett  Archer, Megan Dye and husband Jake, Hunter Venable and wife Natalie and Chase Venable and wife Hannah; seven great grandchildren; and a nephew Jackie Mullen and wife Lauri; niece ,Denice Griffin and husband Cody.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Mullin.


Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Sunnybrook Christian Church in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Jim Johnson officiating.
