William L. Watts, age 58 passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Cushing Regional Hospital in Cushing. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rev. Larry Eslinger will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Ripley, Oklahoma. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
William was born on May 22, 1955 in Chandler, Oklahoma to the late William G. and Celia M. (Gaither) Watts. He grew up and attended school in Tryon and Stillwater. William entered the U.S. Army in 1972 serving his country for three years. He married Kristy Philpot on December 28, 1978 in Chandler, Oklahoma. They later separated. He worked in construction and was a carpenter most of his life. William liked to play his guitar and sing. When it was legal, he enjoyed having fighting roosters. He loved to let his hair fly in the wind as he rode his motorcycle. He loved spending time with his friends and family.
William is survived by Kristy, step-son Kimlee Slavens/Watts of Ripley, siblings Barbara Gabrish and husband Pat of Moore, Patricia Langley and husband Danny of Ripley, Shirley Battles and husband Alvin of Stillwater, Marilyn Gay of Stillwater, Carolyn Jardot of Stillwater, Opal Pritchett and husband Bill of Stillwater, Rowena Gottfried and husband Ronnie of Stillwater, Randy Watts of Aztec, New Mexico, Edward Watts and wife Rhonda of Ripley, two grandchildren Kammie Watts and Tanner Watts, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Leola Watts and Sandra Watts.
