William was born on June 9, 1926 to William Francis Lynsky and Anna Rose Kominek in Cleveland, OH. He attended West High School in Cleveland, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy at the age of 16. From 1941 to 1955, he courageously served his country as an aviation mechanic, serving two tours in Korea and two tours in the South Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a proud crewmember of the U.S.S. Santee-CVE29. Following his honorable discharge, Bill moved to Venice, CA and began a successful career building engine components for Perfect Circle. During his 10 year career with Perfect Circle, he was awarded the Doctor of Motors designation. While in California, he also co-owned and operated his own brake Company.

After leaving California, Bill moved to Las Vegas and accepted a position as a sales representative with NAPA, before ultimately relocating to Oklahoma in 1981. Bill spent several years working in maintenance at Oklahoma State University. In the mid 1980's, he began working as a District Supervisor for the Marriot Corporation and moved his family to several different states before returning to Oklahoma and settling in the Perkins area in the early 1990s. Bill worked for several years as the building maintenance supervisor at the Payne County Courthouse before permanently retiring to be at home with his children.

Bill Lynsky loved to fish, repair small engines and build bird houses, being outdoors, and spending time with his animals. He was an avid sports fan who remained loyal to his Ohio sports teams. William was never happier than when he was around his grandchildren. He had a special friendship with the one true love of his life, his granddaughter, Haley Lynsky. He was a generous, selfless, and compassionate man who literally gave the shoes off his feet to a stranger in need. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making other people smile. Bill Lynsky was a true patriot, a devoted and supportive father, a proud and loving grandpa, and a loyal and honest friend. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

The Lynsky family wishes to thank the following individuals for the wonderful care that they provided: 4th floor rehab and Jamie Barrett at Stillwater Medical Center Home Heath and Image Hospice.
