Alan Dale Holbrook, 70, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at his home in Glencoe, OK. Alan was born December 5, 1955, to Forrest and Pauline McCubbin Holbrook in Stillwater, OK. He grew up on a farm in Perkins and attended school there until his graduation from Perkins-Tryon High School in 1974. That same year, Alan married Terri Baker and they had two beautiful daughters. He was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1980, serving stateside as well as in Guam.
Alan loved motorcycles and was often found on bike rides with his friends Michael, Richard and Don. He was also an avid R.C. airplane operator, mowing his own landing strip in a field near his home for take-offs and landings. He would laugh about all the crashes he endured! He had a warm heart for animals, and was often rescuing them, making sure they were well cared for.
Alan was known for his big heart and easy sense of humor. He was always ready with a helping hand no matter the situation. You had to be careful about mentioning things you'd like to own, because the next thing you knew, Alan would be giving it to you. For instance, when his brother, David, said he was going to get a new leaf blower, the next morning, one was sitting on his porch! Alan worked at Ralph's Packing Plant for several years and retired from Republic Services.
Alan is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Horn and Stephanie (Tim) Goodwin, both of Conway Arkansas, six grandchildren, Gage, Lauren, Cooper, Ella, Jacob, and Kaylee; brother David (Linda) Holbrook of Perkins; sister Judith Haney, Cumming, GA; sister Karen (Joe) Dopkin, Katy, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He will also be dearly missed by his very good friend, Michael Hall and his wife Jessica and their children Natalee, Kaylie, Makynzie and Charlotte. He is also leaving behind his dog, Bear, and his two cats, Charlie and Sam.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene Holbrook and sister Burnice (Burnie) Armstrong, sister-in-law Doris Holbrook, brothers-in-law Bill Armstrong and Richard Haney.
Graveside services for Alan will be held Friday, May 15, 2:00, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, under the direction of Dighton Marler Funeral Home, with Rev. Ashtyn Ball officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in Alan's name to your charity of choice.
