Alberta Louise Cotton

Alberta Louise Miller Cotton Allie Lou went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025. She was 97 years of age.

She was born on November 13th, 1927, in Davenport, OK to John Charles Miller and Ethel Delilah Maxey Miller. She grew up around Yale, Drumright, Olive, and Shamrock, where her dad worked for Sun Oil. She had four siblings: Maxine Chaffen, Charline Duckett, Betty Riley and Dr. Noel Miller, all deceased. Allie Lou graduated from Yale High School in 1945 and then attended Oklahoma A&M, majoring in home economics. While there, she met, fellow student, Dale Alger Cotton. They were married on August 13th, 1948, at First Baptist Church in Yale. Oklahoma. Dale preceded in her in death on February 14th, 2006.

They have three children: Dalene Hamilton and husband John of Jenks; Carla Bridges and husband Jay of Stillwater; Mike Cotton and wife Dolores of Stillwater. One of her greatest blessings were her three well-loved and well-spoiled grandchildren: Josh Bridges, Pittsfield, MA; Kaitlyn Cotton, Elk City, OK; and Caleb Cotton of Stillwater. Allie Lou has one living sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews that she loved. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Stillwater where in her younger days, she had been a good servant, serving on many committees, being active in WMU., and teaching 3-year-olds in Sunday school for many years. She worked for Stillwater Public Schools at Highland Park Elementary for over 20 years and was the president of the Support Personnel Association and was awarded Support Personnel of the Year.

There will be a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery, 6500 S Perkins Rd. Stillwater, OK on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at 11 A.M., under the direction of Dighton Marler Funeral Home. The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the First Baptist Church, 701 S Duncan St. Stillwater, OK 74074 and her memory.
