Andrew Jacky Delano, born on December 26, 1958, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to William "Billy" and Dorcus (Owens) Delano, departed this life on March 21, 2026, in his beloved hometown. Andrew's journey through this world was marked by dedication, love, and unwavering kindness. He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
A man of many talents and passions. His professional life included work at Swan Hose, and National Standard here in Stillwater, followed by mechanic work and eventually Vasser Manufacturing, where he retired. Beyond his career, Andrew was genuinely proud of his ability to always welcome others warmly and lend a helping hand whenever needed.
Andrew's time in the United States Army, beginning in September 1978, was a significant chapter in his life. After serving honorably for four years, he received an honorable discharge, a testament to his dedication and service. He was proud to serve his country.
Known for his fun, loving, witty, and kind nature, Andrew brought joy to all who knew him. He cherished his family deeply and delighted in spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He especially adored spoiling his wife Carolyne rotten. His hobbies were diverse and reflected the fullness of his character: he loved target shooting, working on cars, and cooking big meals for family and friends. Andrew was also an aficionado of classic westerns, particularly the films of John Wayne and Chuck Norris’s “Walker, Texas Ranger.” He was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, especially when they were winning!
Andrew's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Carolyne; his children, Christina Arnett and her husband Ty of Yukon, OK; Jenifer Golden and her husband JT of Stillwater, OK; Andrew Delano of Stillwater, OK; Raymond Donaldson of Austin, TX; Heather Wallace and her husband Ron, and Thomas Donaldson and his wife Belinda all of Perkins, OK. Nine grandchildren, Michael, Britney, Donnovan, Riley, Gracelyne, Hazel, Ashelyne, Skylah, and Andi. Siblings Bill Delano and his wife Carla of Crescent, OK; Brenda Pate of Stillwater, OK; Tom Delano of Texas; Hazel Pendergrass and her husband Ronnie of Perkins, OK; Katie Jarvis and her husband Terry of Perkins, OK; and Tim Delano of Stillwater, OK; and his best friend and Army buddy, Terry Luthy. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends also hold Andrew dear in their hearts.
Andrew was preceded in death by his loving parents, William "Billy" and Dorcus Delano.
A Celebration of Life to honor Andrew will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Dighton -Marler Funeral Home, located at 5106 N Washington St, Stillwater, OK 74075.
In remembering Andrew Jacky Delano, we honor a man whose genuine warmth, wit, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His spirit lives on in the stories, laughter, and memories shared by those who loved him dearly.
