Beulah Mae Varnell Parks went to be with the Lord Wednesday June 20, 2007 at the age of 80 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born October 27, 1926 in Cleveland, Oklahoma to Edward Newton Carter and Lucy Carter. Beulah married Rev. Gerald O. Varnell on April 4, 1941 in Mannford, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 19, 1986. She later married Phillip E. Parks on October 23, 1990 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He preceded in death on October 25, 1997. Beulah was a homemaker by trade and she loved to fish and garden. She was a longtime member of Oakhill Church of Keystone Lake. Although Beulah is no longer with us her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include: 2 sons: Ted Varnell of Yale, Oklahoma and Darrell Varnell and wife Sharon of Stillwater, Ok, 2 Daughter in Laws: Jan Varnell of Belfry, Montana and Millie Varnell of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, 4 Daughters: Janet Smith and husband David of Henryetta, Ok, Debbie Thurman and husband Russell of Stillwater, Ok, Marlene Seitz of Tulsa, Ok, LaFonda Edwards and husband LaGrande, 1 Brother: Leonard Carter and wife Sharon of Oilton, Ok.,1 sister: Lorene Moffitt of Oilton, Oklahoma 30 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. Beulah is preceded in death by 2 sons: Gerald L. Varnell and Billy Wayne Varnell, 5 brothers: Clarence Carter, Woodrow Carter, Guy Carter, Eugene Carter, Lawrence Carter 2 sisters: Dora Cummins and Edith Lawson and 2 son-laws: Brady B Shelton and Wayne Dickey 1 grandson: Jerry Lee Varnell and 1 grand daughter: Lasondra Faye Shelton and her parents. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday June 22, 2007 at Oakhill Church of Keystone Lake of Terlton. Interment will follow at Oakhill Cemetery in Mannford, Oklahoma. Brother Harrell Jones will be officiating the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to American Cancer Society for breast cancer research or American Diabetes Association.
