Bobby Lee Venable

Oct 9, 1939 — Aug 20, 2026

Stillwater, Oklahoma

Bobby Lee Venable, 86, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at 12:15 p.m. at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby was born on October 9, 1939, in El Paso, Texas, at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, to Ilda and Jesse Venable. The family moved to Ponca City where his siblings Arlene and Billy were born before settling in Stillwater, Oklahoma when he was in third grade. Bobby and his siblings Jean Ann, Arlene, and Billy attended Stillwater schools.

After high school he attended Barber School and met his future wife Peggy Combs who was attending Beauty School. They later married and together they raised four children: Vicki Higgins, Sherri Crane, Terri Grove, and Rodney Venable.

After graduating from barber school, Bobby worked as a barber at the Rio Barbershop in Stillwater until 1968. At that time, he went to work for Moore Business Forms where he later became manager of the shipping department. He remained at Moore until the plant closed in 1999 at which time he retired. After retiring, Bobby kept busy working as a part-time delivery driver for his daughter Terri at B&C Business Products. Bobby loved working at B&C; he especially liked getting to see the customers every day. However, he had to leave in 2010 to stay home as caretaker for his wife, Peggy, until her passing in 2019.

Bobby is survived by his brother, Billy Brown and his wife Melinda (Tulare, CA); his sister, Jean Ann Conner (Wilmington, NC); his four children, Vicki Higgins, Sherri Crane and her husband, Chris, Terri Grove and her partner, Keith Disney, Rodney Venable and his wife, Rhonda; grandchildren, Angie Higgins, Alicia Higgins, Katie Higgins, John Higgins, Kyle Devereaux, Cody Devereaux, Wes Crane, Lindsey Gould, Hunter Venable, Chase Venable; and nine great-grandchildren. Nephew Brad Stitch and Niece Melody Vasquez of Wilmington, NC and their families.

Bobby will be remembered for the love he gave to his family, the memories he created throughout his life, and the special place he held in the hearts of those who knew him. His passing leaves a deep sense of loss, but his memory will continue to live through his children, family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

He passed as he lived—with his family close by, surrounded by love.

Bobby will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A special THANK YOU TO Keith Disney who selflessly stepped up to help care for him, making countless sacrifices to ensure he received the loving care that he deserved. Your devotion will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Bobby. Your memory will forever remain in our hearts.
