Brittany Lee Larson

February 6, 1986 — January 3, 2023

Brittany Lee Larson, 36, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed from this earth on January 3, 2023, at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Brittany was born on February 6, 1986, in Stillwater, to Lee and Paige Larson.

Lee and Paige divorced in 1995. Lee married Denise Burden giving Brittany two step-brothers, Joshua and Zachary Arnett. Paige, with partner Mark McCartney, had two children (twins), giving Brittany a half-sister and half-brother, Sarah and Tanner McCartney.

Brittany grew up and attended school in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Brittany liked to play roller hockey, swim, and go to the YMCA with her dad. She loved to work out on weights, play basketball and racquetball. She traveled with her dad and step-brother, Zach, for several years playing in racquetball tournaments in Oklahoma and surrounding states. Occasionally they would end up playing each other for the age group win but no matter who or lost the ride home would be long and silent.

Her favorite sayings to both her step-brothers was you’re dumb and that’s stupid.

She ended school at Stillwater High School and eventually got her GED and attended classes at North Oklahoma College while working at OSU.

She fought two major adversities in her life, first a major car wreck, and the second her house burned down and left her severely burned, both landing her in the hospital in OKC. She survived them both. Brittany was very strong willed.

Eventually she went back to things that made her feel good about herself, working out at the gym, getting together with her step-brother Zach, and playing racquet ball and hanging out. Working out on weights and boxing workouts became her favorites.

She also liked to build things, fix things, and repair bicycles. But, what made Brittany the person that everyone should strive to be is the help she gave her mom, and sister and brother, Sarah and Tanner. She was their rock, their stability. They will miss her immensely. Sarah had a daughter named Willow that Brittany loved, and loved spending time with.

Brittany was employed at the Country Club as kitchen supervisor. She loved this job which surprised us because she could not boil water when she was younger. But I can’t express how much she loved and enjoyed working at the Country Club.

Her sister, Sarah, who also worked at the Country Club had to say this, “Brittany loved her job, and I was able to see her grow into a great cook and become this strong and resilient leader. She had a passion for cooking, as I have, and will continue to do what we both love, and I will make her proud. She was my world, and I will keep up her legacy.”

Brittany is survived by her dad and step-mom, Lee and Denise Larson of Cushing, Oklahoma; her step-brothers Joshua Arnett and Zachary Arnett of Cushing; her half-brother, Will Jones of Kellyville, Oklahoma; her uncle and wife, Dan and Phyllis Larson of Edmond, Oklahoma; her great-aunt Louise Going of Tennessee; her great-aunt, Becky Dickerson of Missouri; her great-aunt, Darlene Coughlan of California.

She is also survived by her mother, Paige McCartney of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her half-sister, Sarah McCartney and partner Kale Butler, and their daughter Willow, all of Stillwater, Oklahoma; half-brother, Tanner McCartney of Stillwater; grandmother, Linda Guenther of Stillwater, Oklahoma; her aunt and uncle, David and Terri Moorman of Stillwater, along with many, many other relatives.

We thank you all for coming and celebrating Brittany’s life with us. She was ONE of a kind.
