Carol Sue Heddlesten

Carol Sue (Pace) Heddlesten, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by family. She was born on October 25, 1940, in Alton, Illinois, to Jesse O. and Ina Pearl (Magness) Pace.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Lavern Heddlesten; her children, Gene and wife Karen of Stillwater, Judy Baker and husband Larry of Granite City, IL, Tracie Donaldson and husband Guy of Arlington, TX, and Sharon McKee and husband Ed of Stillwater, Debbie Turner of Stillwater, and Lee Heddlesten and wife Trisha of Ardmore; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Pace, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents and thirteen brothers and sisters and stepson Tommy Heddlesten.

Throughout her life, Carol worked in many occupations, but her greatest passion was always caring for others—a role she embraced with love and dedication until the time came when others lovingly cared for her.

In lieu of flowers, Carol requested that memorials be made in her honor to Judith Karmen Hospice.

A small graveside service will be held on Sept. 17th, 2025 at 2pm with a Celebration of Life planned on Oct 25th 2025 at the Stillwater Moose Lodge

Carol will be remembered for her generous heart, her devotion to family, and the care she gave so freely to all those around her.
