Charlotte Marie Matheson passed away May 21, 2025, in her home in Stillwater surrounded by family.
Charlotte Chandler was born on December 16, 1951, to Arthur and Vera Chandler. She was raised in the rural Cushing area and graduated from Cushing High School in 1969.
On July 31, 1993, Charlotte brought her three sons to marriage with Rick Matheson and his three sons. In that union was the foundation of her family, in which Charlotte was so very proud. In this union, Charlotte and Rick walked side by side for 35 years to build their world.
She had many talents thru the years which included being a hairdresser, store clerk, she spent many years as bank teller at Payne County Bank and she was receptionist for a doctor, but her greatest joy came from the 13 years she spent at Stillwater Designs (Kicker) as a customer service representative. In this position, she made many friends and enjoyed her work immensely. She reluctantly retired from Kicker in 2015.
Charlotte loved and owned many pets throughout her life which included cats, dogs, chickens, and even a duck. They were a great comfort to her. She loved spending time with family, her children, and grandchildren. The family times where everyone was together were spent laughing and cutting jokes. Her hobbies included needlework, camping and fishing with her husband Rick. One of her most treasured vacations was the family trip she took with her husband Rick and their family to Alaska. She loved the sightseeing on that trip, one thing she enjoyed was seeing the sled dogs and she spoke about that part of the trip often.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her mother Vera, father Art, sister Lavonna, brother-in-law Bill, and her grandson, Austin. She is survived by her husband, Rick, her six sons, Jim, Clay, Craig, Stoney, Dusty, and Shawn; their wives; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was unwavering. Her strength and endurance would be envied by the strongest. Her smile will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 10am to 8pm with family greeting guests from 6-8pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Assembly of God church May 28th at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be Glenwood Cemetery, Perkins.
