Dannie Ventris was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully on the morning of September 20th, 2025, at the age of 58. After courageously battling stage 4 colon cancer for three and a half long but deserving years, he is at peace in Heaven.
Born on May 2, 1967, in Stillwater, OK. Dannie lived a life of service, laughter, loyalty, and love. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for eight years before continuing his career with the U.S. Border Patrol. He later retired from the United States Postal Service, enjoying only three short years of retirement before his passing.
Dannie was truly one of a kind. He was a storyteller at heart and had a way of embellishing every tale just to get a laugh. His family often joked that he had “liabetes,” because he couldn’t resist making up something funny to brighten the room. No matter the circumstance, his smile was contagious, and his joy was genuine.
Above all, Dannie loved his family. He devoted his life to making sure Laura, his children, and his precious grandbaby had everything they needed—and most of what they wanted. He loved fishing trips, playing disc golf, and any time spent with those he loved most.
Dannie leaves behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by his wife Laura, his children Sierra, Everett, Kylee, and Devon, their spouses Jordan and Riki, his grandchild Avery, his parents Don and Virginia, his siblings Amanda, Adam, Buddy, and Sarah along with several nieces and nephews, countless friends and loved ones who were fortunate enough to share in his stories and his smile. He is joyously reuniting with his mom Vicki in heaven after 18 years.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00AM on September 26, 2025, at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a story or a laugh in Dannie’s honor, just the way he would have wanted.
