Donna Eldene Kukuk

December 10, 1943 — March 12, 2024

Donna Eldene Kukuk was born December 10, 1943, in Petersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Eston G. Rexrode and Geraldine K. Roby. She passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at her home in Perry, Oklahoma

She grew up and lived on a farm in rural West Virginia. She had three brothers and two sisters…a very hard-working family in a very mountainous part of West Virginia in Coal Miner Country. She graduated from high school in Petersburg, WV. She loved the outdoor life. She talked about carrying water to the chickens because they had no running water. A very large task because the chickens were in broiler houses.

After Donna moved to Michigan, close to her brother, she worked in a factory making seat belts. Donna was a very kind and loving person. She moved to Oklahoma and began working at Green Valley Nursing Home. She was a very compassionate caregiver. She later went to work at Charles Machine Works.

Donna and Richard Kukuk were married August 11, 2007, at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church at Lee Summit, Missouri. Donna was a dedicated Christian. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. She never missed church and was there every week in her same pew. Richard told her, “We need to move to different pews so we may not be missed when we are not here.” Her reply was, “There isn’t going to be a time when we aren’t here.”

She is survived by her husband Richard, of the home; two daughters, Michelle Fry and husband Steve, Pleasant Hill, MO, and Teresa Inselman and her husband Scott, Blackburn, Oklahoma; one brother, Robert (Bob) Rexrode and his wife Mazie, Petersburg, West Virginia; and one sister, Betty Thompson, Denver, Colorado; three grandchildren: Lacie Yunker, Steven Inselman and his wife Erica, Bryce Nelson and his wife Isabella; and two great grandchildren: Abigail Budd and her husband Brian, and Temperance Inselman. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, two brothers and one sister.

A visitation will be held from 1- 6 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Dighton Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry, Oklahoma.

Serving as pallbearers are J. R. Skidgel, J. B. Skidgel, Steven Inselman, Scott Inselman, Bryce Nelson, and Steve Fry. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Rexrode and Darren Billingsley.

Contributions in her honor may be made to Companion Hospice, Cherokee Transit or Christ Lutheran Church, in care of Dighton Marler Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
