Donna Muriel Weis
November 19, 1942 – April 24, 2025
God welcomed Donna Muriel Weis into eternal life in Heaven on April 24, 2025 at the age of 82.
Donna’s birth blessed the world on November 19, 1942, in Corning, NY to Mina and Walter Wetherbee. Donna married her husband, Richard “Dick” Weis, on September 17, 1966 in Blossburg, PA at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Donna graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1960 as the head majorette of her high school marching band when she then trained with the Hartford Airline Personnel School and joined the 48th graduating class in March of 1961. She met her future husband in Washington, DC on a blind date in the Fall of 1961; they dated seriously for about a year while he was stationed in the Army and she worked for the Navy department. When they parted ways, she transferred with her work for the Navy department to San Francisco, CA. They did not see or hear from each other for five years. As fate would have it, they eventually contacted each other again and were married in 1966. After over a decade of early married life and raising their young children in West Haverstraw, NY, Dick’s work moved the family to Columbia, MO in the Summer of 1979. Four years later, they moved for Dick’s work again to Stillwater, OK where Donna ultimately resided the rest of her happy life as a sea of orange loving OSU Cowboys fan.
Second only to her fervent Catholic beliefs and faith in God, Donna was a devoted wife and mother. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world. Donna built a lifelong career as a beloved in-home daycare provider where she nurtured not only her own children but also 100’s of Stillwater babies for over two decades, all the while acting as a surrogate mother to a worldwide collection of collegiate track and cross-country athletes along the way!
Donna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dick, of the home; four children, Catherine Fagan and husband, Daren, Richard Joseph Weis, Jr. and wife, Kristin, Raymond Weis and wife, Lisa, and Elizabeth Nelson and husband, Christopher; six grandsons, Zachary and Luke Fagan, Jakob, Ryan and Garrett Weis, and Samuel Nelson; one brother, Steve Wetherbee, and one sister, Joan Brown and husband, John, as well as a great many other family members and friends in whose hearts and memories Donna fondly remains.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Raymond Wetherbee, and sister-in-law, Sandy Wetherbee.
Donna’s viewing will be open from 4-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 at Dighton Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater (5106 N Washington St.). Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 1st, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater (711 N Country Club Rd).
