Doyce Dean Brumley, 81, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Though cancer marked the final chapter of his earthly life, it never defined the man he was. Doyce will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet strength, deep love for his family, and the hope he carried because of Christ.
Doyce was born on September 15, 1944, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Fielder and Ollie Maye Brumley, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Royce Brumley, and his younger brother, Mike Brumley.
Doyce faithfully served his country in the United States Army from 1964-1968 and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he earned an MBA and devoted his professional life to serving others. He helped build the Human Resources department at Stillwater Medical Center from the ground up, leaving a lasting impact on the organization and the many people whose lives he touched. Later, he continued his career in Human Resources at Oklahoma State University, where he was respected for his integrity, wisdom, and steady presence.
While attending the Mayfair Church of Christ in Oklahoma City, Doyce met the love of his life, Ann. They were married on November 27, 1976, and together built a Christ-centered home marked by faithfulness, love, and service. They were blessed with two sons: Chad Brumley and his wife, Missy, along with their daughters, Peyton, Marley, and Ava; and Todd Brumley and his wife, Megan, along with their daughters, Penelope and Lucy.
Those who knew Doyce knew a man of quiet strength. He was genuine, calm, and steady. He listened more than he spoke, loved his family deeply, remained loyal to those entrusted to his care, and kept his eyes fixed on the Lord. He found great joy in photography, treasured time with his family, and faithfully served alongside his church family at the Stillwater Church of Christ as a deacon and later as an elder. His life was not marked by a desire for recognition but by a consistent faithfulness that pointed others to Christ.
Above all, Doyce’s life was defined by his faith in Jesus. He trusted the promises of Scripture and lived with the confidence that death is not the end for those who belong to Christ. His family rejoices in the assurance that he has entered into the presence of his Savior, where every tear has been wiped away and all things have been made new.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10AM at the Church of Christ in Stillwater with his son, Todd Brumley officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Stillwater Medical at Home Hospice, 1311 S. Western Rd, Stillwater, Ok., 74074.
