Ervin C. Bier, a long-time Perry, Oklahoma resident, currently residing in Mounds, Oklahoma, passed away May 11, 2025 at the age of 73, in Glenpool, Oklahoma. He was born September 5, 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Adam Bier and Gladys Ryle Bier.
Ervin served six years in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He earned his GED while in the military and then walked across the stage to get his high school diploma in Perry. He was employed at The Charles Machine Works, Inc., for 25 years as a master chain assembler for Ditch Witch machines. While living in Perry, he was an active member of the Ellis Jirous American Legion Post 53 of which he is a Past Commander and Past Sergeant at Arms. During his later years, he loved working on his son's farm and with the farm animals. He served as a volunteer for the Veteran's Administration in Tulsa and last year was named Volunteer of the Year. He is survived by two sons, Brian Bier and wife Rebecca of Mounds, OK and Ervin Dan Bier and wife Joie of Locust Grove, Georgia.; his former wife, Pamela Bier, also of Locust Grove; and one sister, Irene Fink, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons: Lester Bier and John Bier. Although Ervin may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy he leaves behind. Viewing will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dighton Marler Funeral Home - Perry, 203 East Fir Avenue. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grace Hill Cemetery Memorial, 500 Memorial Drive. A burial will follow at the same location, with Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family via an website at www.dightonmarler.com
