Jacob Alan Evans

Jacob Alan Evans passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Stillwater Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was 33.

Jacob Alan Evans was born on October 24, 1992, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Richard Evans and Jennifer Evans. He graduated from Ripley High School in 2012 and spent his childhood growing up outside of Ripley alongside his brothers and sister, building memories that would become some of the greatest treasures of his life as well as theirs. His siblings were always finding inventive ways to include him in all adventures. Which is included but not limited to: helping him over and under barbwire fences, swimming and catching crawdads and frogs from the pond to promptly cook and eat, digging tunnels at the creek, and tolerating his sister’s hair and makeup practice and reluctantly playing dolls.

Jacob found joy in the simple gifts of life. He loved fishing and hunting with his brothers, sister, cousins, and especially his dad. Some of his most cherished moments were spent sitting with his dad in the deer blind that was lovingly built just for him. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent countless hours enjoying nature, whether swimming in the pond, riding go-carts, or simply soaking in the sunshine.

Though physical challenges changed many aspects of Jacob’s life, they never diminished his adventurous spirit. Even after he was no longer able to walk, he found ways to continue enjoying the outdoors, feeling the sunshine on his face and the water on his feet. When he received his first electric wheelchair, his brother and sister famously tied his manual wheelchair behind it for a ride that became a beloved family memory and perfectly reflected Jacob’s playful nature and love of fun.

One of the most special relationships in Jacob’s life was the bond he shared with his mother, Jennifer. Through every triumph, challenge, and milestone, they faced life side by side. Her love, devotion, and fierce support carried him through difficult days, while Jacob’s strength, humor, and loving heart brought her immeasurable pride and joy. Their connection was one of deep understanding and unconditional love—a bond that neither time nor circumstance could diminish. The love between a mother and son is everlasting.

A warrior for Christ and a metalhead at heart, Jacob loved worship music, studying the Bible, and sharing his faith with others. His relationship with God was a cornerstone of his life, and his strength, courage, and unwavering spirit inspired all who knew him.

Jacob never met a stranger. His warm smile, kind heart, and genuine interest in others allowed him to form countless friendships throughout his life. He had a unique gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and loved. The impact he made on those around him cannot be measured, and his memory will live on in the hearts of the many lives he touched.

Nothing in this world brought Jacob more happiness than his nieces and nephews. They were truly his life. He delighted in their laughter, treasured every moment spent with them, and found endless joy in watching them grow. Whether taking them outdoors to explore, taking them on treasure hunts, playing video games, or giving them rides in his wheelchair, Jacob created memories that they will carry with them forever.

Jacob was also an animal lover. His faithful companions brought him comfort and joy throughout the years, including Sozo, his cat; Banjo, his dog; Poopy Tina, his goose; and Sugar, his beloved dog.

Jacob leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him beyond words. He is survived by his father, Richard Evans, and mother, Jennifer Evans, of Cushing; his beloved dog, Sugar; his brother, Darren Evans and wife Rachel Evans of Cushing; his brother, Ricky Evans and wife Hope Evans of Cushing; and his sister, Jaqulyn Evans of Cushing. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Kathy Evans of Stillwater; his maternal grandparents, Kendall and Brenda Miller of Stillwater; his beloved aunt and uncle, Heather and Greg Rodgers of Wichita, Kansas; his great aunt, Ramona Wheatley of Perkins; nieces and nephews Jakeb Oney Evans, Adaline Evans, Parker Evans, Tucker Evans, Calon Evans, Ciris Evans, Levi Floyd-Evans, Jasper Floyd-Evans, and Talyah Evans; Cousins Steven Dodd and wife Emily and their children Everly and Grace of Wichita, Kansas; Kevin Dodd and fiancée Taryn Gilbert and their children Preston, Kendall, and Charles of Glencoe; and Shiloh Combs and husband William of Wichita, Kansas, along with many other cherished family members and beloved friends.

Jacob was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Richard Evans; his uncle, Scott Evans; his maternal great grandfather C.C. Daugherty, his maternal great grandparents Alfred Miller and Mildred Miller, and his cousin, Cody Mertes; and his cousin/uncle Brent Wheatley.

Jacob’s life was a testament to perseverance, faith, love, and joy. Though his time on earth feels far too short, the legacy he leaves behind is immeasurable. His laughter, kindness, unwavering faith, and love for family will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jacob will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished until the day his family and friends see him again.
