James V. Moser

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James V. Moser, who left this world on August 29, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on February 25, 1934, in Fort Riley, Kansas to Soloman Calvin Vernon Moser and Mable Gertrude (Frizzelll) Moser, James lived a life rich in service, love, and dedication.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, James served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953, where he was awarded the Korean Ribbon for his commitment and sacrifice. After completing his military service, he pursued a career as a police officer and later retired from Oklahoma State University, where he dedicated many years to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.  James married the love of his life, Mary Marjorie Cook on April 1, 1954 in Ponca City, Oklahoma.  They were blessed with 71 years together.

James attended Stillwater Public Schools. He remained actively involved in civic life, contributing his time and effort to the Stillwater Lions Club, where he embraced the spirit of community service and camaraderie.  James also enjoyed tinkering with woodworking around the house, spending time with his family, and playing on the computer.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Marjorie of the home; his children, Ella Wilson and her husband Jim of Paris, TN; James Michael Moser of Tryon, OK; and his cherished grandchildren, Tony Wilson (Sandra) of Paris, TN, Gladys Moser of Amarillo, TX, Jamie Durbin (Tim) of Agra, OK, Amanda Blom (James) of Chandler, OK, Hank Moser of Cusing, OK, Matthew Parsel of Stillwater, Ok, and Joseph Jerkins of Texas; 8 great-grandchildren, James, Eric, Alecia, Caitlin, Emma, Rorie, Whitley, and Cooper; brother, Jack Calvin Moser and his wife Pauline of Yucaipa, CA; cousin, Dwyane Moser of Perkins, Ok.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carri Moser; daughter-n-law, Connie Moser; granddaughter-in-law, Tracey Parsel; and two grandsons, David Wilson and Doug Wison.

Friends and family are invited to gather to honor and celebrate James’ remarkable life. A viewing will be held on September 3, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dighton Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A graveside service will take place the following day, September 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Perkins Cemetery.

James V. Moser will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to family, community, and country. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
