Jeanice Ann Peterson

Jeanice Peterson passed away at her home on July 23, 2026, after a short illness surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles “Charlie” Peterson, her dedicated daughter Heather Booth, and talented granddaughter Cameron Booth. She is also survived by her Colorado children Shelley Nordin and Michelle Gowen, Darren and Molly Peterson, grandchildren Taylor, Cody and Lindsay Peterson, Kelsey Rozinski and Haley Markward and 6 great grandchildren, her Montana sister Rhonda Sellers and brother-in-law Larry.

She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Tonya Edmonson, son-in-law Barry Edmonson, and her parents, Lonnie and LaVerne Woodrow.

Jeanice began her life in Sand Springs, OK, born to Noble Lonnie Woodrow and Elpha LaVerne Barnett on December 22, 1951. She spent her young days romping along the Arkansas River on the family farm which was taken by the building of Keystone Dam in the 1950s. She was involved in the building of Woody’s Corner, alongside her parents and sister. It was a family owned business that became a well-known landmark in the Keystone Lake area.

She attended elementary school at Tanglewood, a small rural school west of Sand Springs and later attended Charles Page High School. Jeanice’s interests drew her to “fixing hair”, so she attended and ultimately graduated from a beauty college in Tulsa that led her on the path to a long-time career as a cosmetologist. She owned or worked at several beauty salons in Stillwater after she moved to the area in 1975.

While Jeanice and Charlie were busy raising a family and making a living, they always found time to give back. They were very involved in the community for several years, giving their time to the Elks Lodge. Jeanice served as the president of the Lady Elks and worked at the Blazathon to raise money for Judith Carman Hospice in Stillwater.

Jeanice was a very generous person and would help anybody she felt needed help. She enjoyed family vacations, family gatherings and just connecting with people anywhere anytime. She traveled to Colorado and Montana to be with her children and her sister and brother-in-law when she could. She loved water, so she went on several cruises with her family. Memories she created will never be forgotten by those who shared her time.

A celebration of life will be held on Thanksgiving weekend in Stillwater. More details will follow.
