Jimmie Winfred Eden, 88, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A celebration of life will be held in Stillwater at the Dighton-Marler Funeral Home on Wednesday January 18th at 11:00 AM.
Jimmie was born March 24, 1934, in Rocky, Oklahoma, to Mattie and Winfred Eden. He attended Rocky High School and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Marketing. He also served in the U.S. Army. Jimmie married Janet Jones and raised two children in Sentinel and Rocky, Oklahoma.
Jimmie was a lifelong farmer and rancher who loved animals and the outdoors. He passed his love of animals to his children who were active in 4-H. His family had the honor of being named the Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s Farm Family of the year. He served on the Oklahoma ASCS Board for many years and always loved his trips to Stillwater and Washington DC for meetings.
After retiring, Jimmie loved traveling and would spend his time chasing good weather between South Texas and Colorado. He also loved and enjoyed his Stillwater coffee group who would meet most mornings at McDonalds where they would have fellowship and solve the world’s problems! He was a lifelong OSU fan and proud alumni and you would be hard pressed to see him without Americas Brightest Orange on him - either in a jacket or ball cap.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet, his parents Mattie and Winfred Eden and brother-in-law Larry Price.
Jimmie is survived by his 2 children: Angela Ciccone and her husband, Bob, Scottsdale, AZ; and Jimmie Eden, Jr., and his wife Angela, Stillwater, OK. Five grandchildren: Tom Ciccone, Abby Ciccone, Dillon Eden, Nicole Eden, and Caitlan Capps. Two sisters: Jane Burke and husband Don, and Joanne Price. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmie was a loving Father, Grandfather and a true friend and was loved by all who met him, he will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in his honor.
