John Robert Horstman, of Perry, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on April 14th, at the age of 75. He was born on October 3, 1944 in Enid, Oklahoma, to Leo and Dorothy Horstman.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Kristi and his granddaughters Sierra Nida-Mills and Brianna Baldwin. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Sandy Horstman.
Lovingly remembered by his daughter Staci Amato and his son Daryl Horstman, Sandy’s daughters Alicia Dale, Alana Knott and Allison Castleberry. His brother Marvin Horstman and sisters Glenda Lundy and Charlotte Seng. His 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
John grew up on a farm in Bison, Oklahoma where he attended school and graduated from Waukomis High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army. After almost 30 years of employment, he retired from Ditch Witch. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, ranching, spending time with family and watching western shows. His wit, charm and orneriness will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 9:00AM to 5:00PM, April 17, 2020 at Dighton Marler Funeral of Perry. No public services planned at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
