Kendall Earl Grindstaff, 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9am to 1pm and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm. Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:00am at Fairlawn Cemetery. Dighton Marler Funeral Home.
Kendall was born June 4, 1929 to Garnett Gladys (Johnson) and Earl Carl Grindstaff in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was reared in several communities, but graduated from Stillwater High School in 1946, and from Oklahoma A&M in January 1951. While in college, he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, graduating from Air Force ROTC as a distinguished military graduate and from A&M as a member of Phi Kappa Phi Scholastic Fraternity. After serving five years on active duty, including one year in Korea, Kendall was released from active duty. He retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1989 with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
While on active duty, Kendall married Lucille Rossander and they had two children, Rick and Kirk. After leaving the Air Force, Kendall and his family returned to Stillwater and he entered the grocery business. In 1961 he entered the real estate business and was active in the business until he retired in 2018.
Kendall was a member of the First Christian Church, Sigma Nu Fraternity, U.S. Air Force Reserve, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Stillwater board of Realtors, Stillwater Homebuilders Association, Stillwater Chamber of Commerce, and the Stillwater Industrial Foundation. He served 25 years as a member of the Board of Education of Meridian Technology Center.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lucille who died in September 2012.
He is survived by his two sons, Rick Grindstaff, Kirk Grindstaff and his wife Jhean as well as two grandchildren Parker and Lacy Grindstaff.
