Kerry was born February 11, 1949, in Hays, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford Eugene Burger and Doris Irene (Gaston) Burger. On June 20, 1969, she married Eli Francis Dallen at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina, Kansas. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and built a loving family. Kerry was the proud mother of one daughter, Rebecca Ann Dallen, and grandmother to two granddaughters, Caroline Rose Malget and Mary Elizabeth Malget, both of Stillwater.

She began her career with American Maplan Corporation in McPherson, Kansas, where she worked in accounts receivable and accounts payable from 1981 until her retirement in 2008. She then joined Oklahoma State University, serving as an accounting specialist until 2018. While at OSU, she generously volunteered in the office of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, sharing her accounting skills and lending a helping hand wherever needed. Following her retirement from OSU, Kerry continued to serve the community as the financial secretary for the Cherokee Strip Historical Society until 2023.
Kerry loved her family deeply and found joy in making a home filled with warmth and good food. She was an excellent cook, often creating delicious meals from her imagination. For many years, she enjoyed ceramics before discovering a passion for scrapbooking, where she preserved countless family memories. She was also well known in the family for being an excellent hairstylist.
