Larry Brown, on November 17, 1951, in Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away on February 21, 2026, in Pawnee, Oklahoma. A proud servant of his country, Larry dedicated time to the U.S. Army, demonstrating a commitment to his nation that many respected and admired.
Larry's educational journey began at Carney High School, from which he graduated in 1970. Throughout his life, he carried the lessons learned during his formative years with him, shaping him into the man who would go on to become a cherished friend, brother, and father.
On May 16, 1981, Larry married Sheila Vassar Brown; this union, although later resulting in divorce, marked a significant chapter in his life. He is survived by his beloved son, Zachary Brown, who carries forward Larry's legacy of kindness and hard work. Additionally, Larry is survived by his siblings: Bill Brown and his wife Veronna, Betty Scrivner, Jerry Brown, Shirley Haney, Carl Brown and his wife Gail, and Carol Brown. Each sibling will hold their unique memories of Larry, a man they loved dearly.
Larry will always be remembered for his warm personality. He was a generous soul, considering everyone he met a friend. His kindness knew no bounds, and he worked diligently to provide for his family, earning the admiration and love of those around him. His big heart and unwavering spirit will remain a cherished memory for his family and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his son, Parker Grayson Brown; his parents, Clifford and Helen Brown; and his brother, Jim Brown. Their absence is felt deeply, but their memories will live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
A graveside service will be held on March 13, 2026, at Tryon Cemetery, located at East Highway 105, 74824, in Oklahoma. The service will begin at 2:00 PM, providing family and friends the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Larry's life.
Larry Brown’s legacy of friendship, kindness, and love will continue to impact all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories that will be fondly remembered for years to come.
