Lester Clyde Stocker

Lester Clyde Stocker, 80, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 9:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, north of Glencoe.
Lester was born on November 24, 1938 in Glencoe, Oklahoma to Clyde LeRoy and Thelma Alice (Ellington) Stocker. He grew up on the family farm near Quay and graduated from Quay High School in 1957. In 1958 he joined the United States Navy. After returning from the Navy, he attended VoTech school in Okmulgee. Lester married the love of his life Mary on June 4, 1962 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Lester moved to Edmond Oklahoma to start his family. He took a job with Axelson Pump Company in Kansas, transferring to Wyoming to manage the Douglas repair shop. He later opened his own pump repair shop servicing the eastern Wyoming region. Lester enjoyed camping, boating, tinkering in the garage and using his creativity to build things around the house. He was great handy man. He enjoyed making homemade bread and ice cream along with his famous chocolate cake.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Wayne and Elton Stocker.
He is survived by his wife Mary, Stillwater, Oklahoma; his children Gary Stocker and his wife Cheryl, Allen, Texas; Steven Stocker, Great Bend, Kansas, as well as his grandchildren, Heather Stocker, Alex Stocker, Ryan Stocker and Allyson Stocker. Lester is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews scattered across the country.
