Linda Shambles, a beloved member of her community, passed away on February 19, 2026, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 1, 1947, Linda's life was marked by her deep love for family and friends, as well as her admirable dedication to her work and hobbies.
Throughout her career, Linda wore many hats, serving as a teaching assistant, a motel manager, and a homemaker. However, her proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly being a mother. Her nurturing spirit and warm demeanor earned her the affectionate title of "everyone's mom," as she embraced those around her with generosity and kindness.
Linda had a passion for quilting, often creating beautiful works that showcased her creativity and attention to detail. In addition to her crafts, she adored cats and found joy in their company. Known for her stubbornness, Linda was unwavering in her beliefs and passions, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is survived by her family, including her loving daughter, Margaret Mantooth and her husband John, her son, Bert Shambles and his wife Mish, Terry Shambles and his wife Brooke, and James Shambles and his wife Trisha. Linda also leaves behind her cherished daughter, Missy Arnold and her husband Stan, brother Raymond Little and his wife Georganna, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her devoted cat Grace.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and George, her devoted husband Lloyd, and several grandchildren. Their memories will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A graveside service to honor Linda’s life will take place on February 26, 2026, at Landrum Cemetery in Vinita, Oklahoma, starting at 2:00 PM. All who knew and loved Linda are invited to join in celebrating her remarkable life and the love she so freely shared.
