Loretta Joann Morris

Loretta JoAnn Morris, a lifelong Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 61 years. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the First Assembly of God, Cushing. Pastor Michael Williams will officiate. Interment will follow at Silver Star Cemetery, Cushing. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Ok. Loretta was the daughter of the late great Johnnie and Fallis (Worley) Morris. Loretta was born on March 9, 1949 in Cushing, Oklahoma where she was reared and educated, graduating from Cushing High School . She attended Langston University in 1987 majoring in Computer programming. As an adult, she worked as a certified nurses aide/ Home health aide for many years until she moved in to being a factory worker at Mercury Marine which she worked and lived for 3 years! Due to health issues she had to retire early, but that didnt slow her down one bit! She loved to dance, cook, and to be with her children and grandchildren! She loved to sit around with old pals and reminisce about the ol days and always said or did something to bring a smile on someones face! Loretta was a member of the First Baptist Church North. Survivors include her longtime companion, David Decker of Sapulpa, her two children, Olivette Marie Hagler and husband Sheldon C. Hagler of Cushing, her son Johnnie Andrew Massie of Cushing, her grandchildren Ashawntae D. L. Boyd, Bryce A. Massie and Jaiden R. Massie, her brothers Joseph and wife Betty Morris of Cushing, Lugene and wife Pearl Morris of Okc, Ezell and wife betty Morris of Okc, Nathaniel Morris of Houston, Tx., her sisters Addie M. Morris of South Dakota, Betty L. Morris of Stillwater, Gloris D. Boyd of Cushing and Jessie M. Revels of Enid. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and plenty of friends!
