Loretta Mae Beavers

Loretta Beavers, 89, of Glencoe, passed from this life on Friday, August 11, at home.


Loretta was born April 24, 1934, in Pawnee, OK to Forrest and Maybelle (Prince) Tyson.


She attended schools in Pawnee, OK graduating from Pawnee High School in 1952 where she was the first and only female Trombonist in the band. Upon graduation, she met the love of her life, Bobby Beavers. They were married June 3, 1953, in Maramec, OK. Loretta worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 plus years. From 1977-2002 she was Postmaster at Glencoe Post Office. She retired from USPS in 2002 only to return as Clerk five years later. Loretta was driven by her love for her family and was blessed with three children, daughter Diane, son Ken and son Rick all of Glencoe, OK. She was a doting grandmother to six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She joins in heaven her husband Bobby, and sisters Orvetta Wilkerson and Verna Tyson.


Loretta loved her family and church family and attended church as often as her health allowed.


She is survived by her three children, Diane Allen, Ken Beavers and Rick Beavers; grandchildren, Heather Hancock, Matthew Brewer, Dustin Allen, Casey Hidinger, Sarah Ross, and Tessa Smith; great-grandchildren, Kaylie Hancock, Allyson Hancock, Dylan Hancock, Presley Brewer, Paige Brewer, Nola Ross, Stoney Ross, and Rebel Ross; one brother, Donald G. Tyson of Chandler, AZ; and one niece, Debbie Grote of Glencoe, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie L. Beavers; two sisters, Orvetta and Verna; and her parents.


Visitation will be 9AM to 8PM Friday, August 18, 2023 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater. A Celebration of Loretta’s life will be 2PM Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Glencoe First Baptist Church with pastor Haken officiating. Pallbearers will be Matthew Brewer, Dustin Allen, Jeff Hancock, Daniel Freeman, John Lazenby, and Zach Cavett. Interment will follow at IOOF Maramec Cemetery in Pawnee.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Glencoe First Baptist Church in Loretta’s honor.
