Margaret Graham Dolezal, nee Mackintosh, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at the age of 86.
Margaret was born in Paisley, Scotland. In 1959 she married a handsome United States Airman, Albert James “A.J.” Dolezal before coming to America in 1960. Though she eventually became an American Citizen and made Oklahoma her home, she never forgot her Scottish roots. She carried them with her in the songs she sang, the stories she shared, and the love she poured into her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Albert James Dolezal.
She is survived by her children: Emily Bingham and husband, Charles of Tuttle, OK; A.J. Dolezal and wife, Cathy of Purcell, OK; and Allan Dolezal and wife, Terrie of Moore, OK.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Mark Bohon and wife, Addy; Heath Bohon and wife Kristi; Joshua Madden and wife, Payton; Jacob Dolezal; Sam Dolezal; Matt Fullerton and wife, Misty; Dillon Dolezal and wife, Jennifer; and Dalton Dolezal and wife, Bekah.
Her greatest pride and joy were her great-grandchildren: Molly, Paisley, Kinley, Tripp, Brynnleigh, Zeke, Little Joe, Elliott, Oliver, Sawyer, Stevie, Waylon, Jovi, Aubree, Jaxon, Jarren, and many other extended family members who filled her heart with immeasurable happiness.
Margaret built a successful career as a real estate agent, tax consultant, and accountant. She was hardworking, intelligent, and dedicated, but her greatest accomplishments were never measured by her profession - they were measured by the family she so fiercely loved.
Her faith in God guided her throughout her life. In her younger years, she sang in the church choir and taught Sunday School sharing Jesus’ love through both her voice and example.
To those who knew her best, Margaret was unforgettable. She had beautiful blue eyes that sparkled whenever she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her smile was contagious, her laugh infectious, and her sense of humor unmatched. She had a very unique personality.
She loved dancing around the house, singing old Scottish folk songs to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, telling stories, and filling every room with laughter. She was delightfully ornery and loved pulling practical – and sometimes impractical – jokes just to see everyone smile or laugh. She loved attention, because it usually meant everyone was together having fun. Those moments of laughter became her family’s most treasured memories.
She was also a gifted seamstress who lovingly sewed clothes for her daughter and shirts for her sons, expressing her love not only through words but through the work of her hands.
Margaret adored her family beyond measure. Nothing brought her greater joy than having everyone together. Even as Lewy Body dementia gradually stole her ability to move and speak, it never took away the love in her heart or the unmistakable sparkling joy in her eyes whenever her family was near. She remained deeply loved, faithfully cared for and never alone.
While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in knowing she is now whole again with Jesus – free from pain and paralysis, restored in body, and mind and at peace in the presence of her Lord Jesus. Her legacy of faith, resilience, laughter, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to live on through every life she touched.
If you knew Margaret, you laughed with her. If you loved Margaret, you will carry a piece of her joyful spirit in your heart forever.
As an old Scottish blessing says:
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
