Mrs. Mary G. Miller of Stillwater, Ok passed away Monday June 18, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Mary was born January 2, 1923 in Warren Arkansas to R.G. and Ollie Mae Knowles Garison. On August 18, 1946 Mr. Leslie V. Miller took Miss Mary as his bride in Warren Arkansas. Mary received her Masters Degree and was employed at Oklahoma State University as a professor. She made Whos Who in College of Home Economics in 1983. She was a member of the American Rosie the Riveter, and a member of the Payne County retired Education Association. Through the Home Economics program each summer Mary visited Costa Rico, Panama, and Mexico City. She assisted 3 other in writing a book careers professions: New Perspectives in Home Economics. She loved to quilt, collect antiques and travel. Although Mary is no longer with us her memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends she leaves behind which include: her husband Les Miller of 60 years, 3 Sons: Joe G. and Sue Miller of Stillwater, Ok, Mike and Julie Miller of Manhattan, Kansas and Mark Miller of Ripley, Ok. 3 Brothers: Richard G. Garison Jr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Jim W. Garison of Crossett, Arkansas and John M. Garison of Hot Spring Village, Arkansas, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a host of longtime friends and neighbors. Mary is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Thursday June 21, 2007 at Highland Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Andy Hall and Rev Derick officiating. Interment will follow the service at Fairlawn Cemetery.
