Matthew was born to Robert and Twana Winter July 19, 1973, in Enid and passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2025, in Stillwater, at the age of 52, following a very short illness. Matt was lovingly held in his parents’ arms when he was born, and again when he passed.
Raised in North Enid and Enid, Matt made his forever home outside of Ponca City. He loved to fish, camp and be in nature. He always had a project going when he was home – building a chicken coop, putting up fencing, working on vehicles, or whatever his creative mind could come up with. His favorite holiday was 4th of July, so he could light up the skies with fireworks.
He attended school at Chisholm schools and Enid schools. Graduating from Chisholm High School in 1992. He then attended Autry Vo-tech and became a diesel mechanic. He worked various jobs, most recently as a cross-country truck driver for Keane Thummel Trucking Inc. He loved the open road and exploring the United States. He also ran a bait shop from his residence when he was home during his off time from trucking.
