Mildred Ruth Boyd

Mildred Ruth (Guggisberg) Boyd passed away peacefully Thursday, June 29, 2023 in Stillwater. She was 92. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Mildred was born May 8, 1931 in Oklaunion, Texas to Walter and Gertrude (Hempel) Guggisberg. She married Rob Boyd on October 23, 1948. They were blessed with 57 years together before Rob’s passing in 2005. She lived in Tulsa for 51 years before moving to Brookdale Assisted Living in Stillwater in 2019 to be close to family. Mildred spent most of her life as a housewife raising her children and looking after her family.

While in Tulsa Mildred was an active member of the Garnett Road Church of Christ where she faithfully attended. She was the kindergarten coordinator of over 100 children each Sunday.

In her spare time she loved refinishing antiques, gardening, and cooking. Her family and friends would often call her “the stripper” for a good laugh!

Survivors include her two daughters and their spouses, three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and son, Robert Rex Boyd.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa.
