Nelleta Darlene Harris, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the Stillwater Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 7, 1964, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Nelleta was a radiant light in the lives of those who knew her. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1982, carrying with her a spirit that was both fun and witty, leaving a lastingly loving impression on everyone she met.
Throughout her life, Nelleta found joy in spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including traveling, dancing, gardening, and listening to music. Her fondness for visiting the casino brought her both excitement and cherished memories with her loved ones. Nelleta’s infectious laughter and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nelleta is survived by her two daughters, Nicole Celso (Victor) of Cushing, Oklahoma, and Courtney Turner (Trevor) of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was a proud grandmother to Brien Hill, Xavier Celso, Zane Celso, Tristan Turner, Aubri Turner, Brantley Turner, Maddux Turner, and Harper Turner. Her beloved mother, Nelleta Williamson, also survives her. In addition, Nelleta leaves behind her devoted best friends, Shelbey Andrews and Louis Lutz, who added immeasurable joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Cook, whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Celebration of Darlene's life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1PM at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Stillwater. The visitation will take place at Dighton Marler Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, where friends and family are invited to gather to celebrate the life and loving spirit of Nelleta Darlene Harris. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.
While her physical presence will be missed, the memories and love she shared with each individual will resonate in their lives forever.
