Norma Lynette Tipton, a beloved member of the Oklahoma community and cherished matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Oklahoma City. Born Norma Lynette McGuire on February 19, 1938, in Coyle, Oklahoma, she lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her faith, and her work.

A proud graduate of Coyle High School, Norma devoted many years to serving the Oklahoma State University community, where she worked diligently in the housekeeping department. Her commitment to her work was only surpassed by her love for her family, whom she treasured deeply throughout her life.

On March 13, 1956, Norma married the love of her life, Lonnie Tipton Sr. Together, they built a life filled with love and shared values. Her family remained at the center of her world, and she was especially proud of her children and the legacy of love and strength they carry forward.

Norma's personality radiated warmth and kindness. She loved her family dearly and cherished her children, embodying the spirit of nurturing and unwavering support. Her passing leaves a sorrowful gap in the lives of those who knew and loved her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire all whose lives she touched.

She is survived by her devoted children: Lonnie Tipton Jr., Rochelle Sneed, Sheila Smith, and Greg Tipton. Norma also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of joy and pride in her life. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Tony McGuire.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Tipton Sr.; her daughter, Tressa Farrow; and her brother, Bill McGuire. Their memories and love continue to live on in the hearts of their family.

Family, friends, and all who knew Norma are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on June 10, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Stillwater - Dighton Marler Funeral Home, located at 5106 N Washington St, Stillwater, Oklahoma. The funeral service will be held the following day, June 11, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Following the service, interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6500 South Perkins Road, Stillwater, Oklahoma, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Norma Lynette Tipton’s life was a testament to the power of enduring love and dedication to family. Her legacy will live on through her descendants and all who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered with deep respect and affection by her community and loved ones alike.
