Robin Emmons Reece passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at her home in rural Payne County at the age of 66. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.
Visitation will be noon to 8PM Friday, April 2, 2021 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater. A Celebration of Robin’s life will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11AM at the funeral home with pastor John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater.
Robin was born November 19, 1954 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. She was adopted by Earl and Joan Emmons while Earl was on military assignment in Japan. She attended many schools as a child of a military family and graduated from Jonesboro High School in Arkansas. She attended Arkansas State University for a year and then moved to Colorado for employment.
In 1979 while visiting family she met her husband Disney, and they soon married in May of 1980. They settled near Ripley on their farm and began their family immediately when they adopted their son Jason, followed by his sister Rachel from Korea. In addition to being a wife, mother, and rancher, Robin continued her studies at OSU and graduated with a degree in education in 1984.
She taught middle school students at Pawnee, Oklahoma for twelve years and then transitioned to textbook sales with Harcourt Publishers. She enjoyed great success in the publishing/academic arena. She retired in 2009 to spend more time traveling and cruising the world with her husband.
Robin is survived by her husband of forty years, Disney, of the home; son, Jason of Dale, Oklahoma; daughter, Rachel of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and grandsons, Trey and Cade Reece of Ripley, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Joan; and brother, Brad.
