Stephen "Steve" Perkins

Stephen Perkins passed away Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was 69. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater.

Steve was born September 28, 1950 in Wooster, Ohio to Franklin and Wilda (Tuttle) Perkins. He grew up in Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma and graduated from High School there in 1969. After graduation, he joined the Army and served in the infantry for two years.

He enjoyed all kinds of sports, especially OSU football, watching old western movies over and over, talking politics, and being outdoors.

On December 10, 2007 he married the love of his life, Kimberly Stanley in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They enjoyed 11 years together until Kim's passing in 2019.

Steve is survived by his two daughters, Ruth Ann Duggan and husband Andy, and Stephanie McMinn and husband Scotty all of Athens, TN three brothers, Rick Perkins and wife Betty of Hammon, OK, Bob Perkins and wife Susan of Kellyville, OK, and Arthur Perkins and wife Brenda of Perkins, OK; one sister, Jill Dodds of Claremore, OK; seven grandchildren, Taylor Gibson, Ashlee Carpenter, Patrick McMinn, Alexes Maddox, Brady McMinn, Kallie Maddox, and Jase McMinn; five aunts, uncles, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one sister, Jennifer Hazen.

Memorial donations may be made to the Oklahoma Lung Cancer Foundation in c/o Dighton-Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, Ok., 74075.
