Theresa Mary Leger

Theresa Mary Leger, age 68, ran to the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus, when she breathed her last breath on this earth on July 31, 2026. She modeled being a biblical wife, a stay-at-home mother to her children until they were older, and was known as Mimi to all her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Theresa was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 13, 1958 to Ben and Elizabeth Czaja. She attended Burbank Elementary School, Bell Jr. High School, and Nathan Hale High School, in which she excelled at making almost all straight A’s during those years. She was awarded a full college scholarship from American Airlines for academic excellence in 1976. That year she also married the love of her life, Mike, whom she met while both working at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Theresa excelled especially in mathematics and was a natural at bookkeeping and accounting, which she used at Stillwater National Bank from 1993–1998 and as the church secretary doing the books and accounting at Calvary Assembly of God for 36 years.

Theresa was always content with very little. She loved watching old westerns like Bonanza, The Rifleman, Wagon Train, and Leave It to Beaver, which she watched every morning before going to work. She was an expert at knitting, crocheting, and a highly skilled seamstress. She loved reading, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, swimming, water ballet, and pioneer camping, especially in the mountains of New Mexico. She also was a gourmet cook, but her greatest passion was church and serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus, which she built her whole life around.

For years, she worked with the Missionettes girls program and also the Royal Rangers boys program. She played her flute and later viola at praise and worship for most of the 50 years of attending Calvary Assembly of God. She had a natural compassion for people. Though she will be missed, she lived her whole life in the anticipation of going to heaven.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Elizabeth Czaja, and her sister, Patricia.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; her sister, Caroline Czaja; her three children: Dan (wife Tera), Amanda (husband Mike), and Bessie (husband Matt); and six grandchildren: Lexi, Nicolas, Ellery, Emily, Laura, and Kael.
