Ulys Lynn Hawkins

October 10, 1950 — December 6, 2025

Stillwater, Oklahoma

Lynn was born October 10, 1950, in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Bay (Ulys) and Mildred (Delk) Hawkins. Lynn grew up in Texhoma, Sperry, and Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1973, Lynn graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Arts. Upon graduation, he proudly entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. While in Germany, Lynn met and married Janet Marlin. 

After returning home, Lynn completed his master’s degree at SWOSU and dedicated his life to education. He taught at Caruthersville, Missouri, and Putnam City Schools in Oklahoma. In 1992, Lynn became the State Program Administrator for STEM, at the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (CareerTech) until his retirement. Lynn retired after 35 years leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. 

He found joy in the outdoors, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. 

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived buy his wife, Janet Hawkins; sister, Beverly Metheny (husband Mike); his daughters, Crystal Lathrop (husband Myron), Heather Sprunger (husband Mitch), and Amber McCabe (husband Wil);  six granddaughters, Avery, Ella, Millie,  Abbie, Eve, and Chloe, plus one grandson arriving soon; along with nieces and nephews.

Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the healthwellfoundation.org in Lynn's honor.
