Lynn was born October 10, 1950, in Guymon, Oklahoma to Bay (Ulys) and Mildred Hawkins. Lynn grew up in Texhoma, Sperry, and Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1973, Lynn graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) with a B.S. Degree in Industrial Arts. Upon graduation, Lynn entered the U.S. Army and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany. While in Germany Lynn met and married Janet Marlin. After returning home, Lynn completed his master’s degree at SWOSU. He taught at Caruthersville, Missouri, and Putnam City Schools, Oklahoma. In 1992, became the State Program Administrator for STEM, at the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education until his retirement. Lynn retired after 35 years as an educator. He loved the outdoors, woodworking, and time spent with family and friends. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Janet Hawkins, sister, Beverly Metheny and her husband Mike; daughters Crystal Lathrop and her husband Myron, Heather Sprunger and her husband Mitch, Amber McCabe and her husband Wil; grandchildren, Avery, Ella, Millie, Abbie, Eve, and Chloe; along with nieces and nephews.
