Velma Hotson, 90, of Covington, Oklahoma, was born September 23, 1935, in Skedee, Oklahoma, the daughter of Royal Winfield Watson and Christine Pearl (Barnes) Watson. She passed away February 26, 2026, at Enid Senior Care in Enid, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Hotson was reared in Skedee and graduated from high school. She married Ernie Hotson in 2004 at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was employed for Brown & Root while they were building Sooner Lake, and Best Western Motel, and worked 18 years as a welder at Ditch Witch before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crafts. She was very fond of her dog “Sissy.”
In addition to her husband, Ernie, she is survived by one daughter, Cindy Williams, of England; and one sister, Estelle Grimes and her husband Ken of Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by two sons and two daughters: Doug Stearman, Earl Stearman, Patricia Ann Stearman, and Kathy Stearman; her parents; and six siblings: her twin, Thelma Rodgers, Orbie Watson, Gene Watson, Johnny Watson, Bennie Watson, and Chuck (Charles) Watson and his wife Addie.
She will be buried in a private ceremony at Pawnee Cemetery.
