After 85 years of a life well lived, Violet Simone passed away peacefully with her loving family surrounding her on May 2, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Violet was born on July 25, 1935 in Kesley, Iowa to Lupke and Hannah (Eilers) Harms. She graduated from high school in 1953. Violet was a stay-at-home mom while raising her children. After her children grew up, she worked as an Environmental Supervisor until she retired. Violet enjoyed baking, cooking, going to the casino, playing poker, watching Thunder Basketball, but most of all she enjoyed spending precious time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter, Debora Ann Unger; son, Ronald Lewis; sisters, Ester Lumlee and Lilly Litzn; and both of her parents. Violet is survived by her children, Pamela Jane Negrete, Randall Ray Simone, Kim Marie Mendoza, Angela Marie Montoya, Mark Andrew Simone, and Bryan Simone; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and one brother, Johnny Harms. Services to celebrate Violet’s life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Choctaw Church of the Nazarene.
