Wilson Leroy Chestnut

Wilson Leroy Chestnut, 80, of Perry passed away Friday, May 29, 2020 in Stillwater Oklahoma. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Digthon-Marler Funeral Home of Perry.
Visitation will be 9:00AM to 8:00PM Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home of Perry. Family will greet guests from 6pm to 8pm. Services will be 10:00AM Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home Chapel in Perry. Interment will follow at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry.
Wilson was born April 13, 1940 on the family farm in Billings, Oklahoma to Arthur and Emma Elizabeth (York) Chestnut. He grew up in Billings and graduated Billings High School in 1959. He soon joined the Oklahoma National Guard to serve his country and achieved the rank of Sergeant .
On February 12, 1972 he and Anita Gayle Roberts were married in Orlando, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 39 years until Anita’s passing in 2011. Some of his hobbies include electronics, tinkering with anything, enjoyed helping people, always building things for people, enjoyed music, played the organ for church. He also enjoyed spending time on his father's farm planting and harvesting wheat.
Survivors include his son, John Michael Chestnut of Perry, Oklahoma; daughter, Tammy Dawn Judd and husband Dan of Piedmont, Oklahoma; sister, LaDonna Arlene Schults of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Arthur Melvin Chestnut of Perry, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Alan Daniel Judd and wife Kim, Audrey Marie Elizabeth Judd, Beth Alaina Judd, and Clark Spencer Chestnut. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; granddaughter, Hope Miracle Chestnut; and one sister, Noreta Mae Hemken.
